Universal Print (UP) Device Development Overview
Build innovative and differentiated printers and multifunction devices (MFD) with Universal Print. Universal Print offers a cloud service infrastructure supporting cloud-only printing solution deployment.
It leverages specifications from existing standards body to ease development of new Universal Print ready devices. This includes definitions from specifications such as Mopria 2.x defined IPP attributes and PWG defined IPP Shared Infrastructure Extensions.

Security feature requirements
Universal Print requires the following security related functionality:
- Support TLS 1.2 as part of the SSL connection to the cloud service
- Securely store the certificate that is issued to the device when the device is registered with the service by the end customer
- OAuth2 access token request and handling
