Key OKR stakeholders and their functions

Adopting the OKR methodology and the technology used to enable it requires cooperation across your organization. The following groups and team members are important to making sure the OKR methodology helps achieve your business outcomes. Each one plays a specific role.

Roles and responsibilities

Role Responsibilities
Executive sponsor Communicate high-level vision and values for company-wide OKRs.
Super champion Ensure Viva Goals adoption leads to realizing business goals.
Champions Promote adoption of Viva Goals and handle objections.
Project lead Oversee Viva Goals deployment process and logistics.
Tenant admin (IT specialist) Oversee technical aspects of Viva Goals deployment and rollout.
Department leads (stakeholders) Identify how departments will use Viva Goals, and encourage adoption within their departments.
Early adopters Use Viva Goals early in the adoption process. Provide feedback to help the rest of the organization transition smoothly.
Employee training lead Manage and communicate training content about Viva Goals.
OKR community leader Own and manage an internal community focused on OKRs. Facilitate discussions and learning opportunities for the organization.
