Important
This feature is for public preview customers only. Features in preview might not be complete and could undergo changes before becoming available in the broader release.
Applies to: Microsoft 365 Global Administrator or Organizational Data Source Administrator
To make changes to your connection or update your data after you've set up the connection, follow the steps below.
Edit .csv file and mapping
To update or delete an end user's organizational data, create and upload a new .csv file containing only the users whose data you want to update or delete.
To update a value, include all of the attributes that you want to update. Provide a different value for any attribute that you want to change. If you include an attribute but don't provide a value (and don't set it to an empty string), the current value in the Microsoft 365 User Profile is used, and the value isn't updated. New uploads merge with previous data and don't overwrite that data.
To delete all of the data for a user, enter the empty string or integer value for all of their attributes and set the Microsoft_Layer attribute to -1. To delete Microsoft_ManagerEmail, set the manager email to, for example, "manager@contoso.com."
Note
If you use Excel to edit the .csv file, use three single quotes (''') instead of two (''). Excel sees a single quote (') as the escape character.
If you have different or new attributes you'd like to map, use the steps below to re-upload your .csv file headers.
On the Organizational Data in Microsoft 365 page, select Data connections.
Under Connection type, select the API-based connector you'd like to edit.
Select Edit attribute access and mapping.
At the bottom of the Choose apps and services to share data with page, select Next.
On the Map reserved attributes to your imported data page, select Import CSV headers.
Make sure you add or delete any fields in the CSV header file so it matches your .csv data file. If you have more fields in your CSV header file than in your .csv data file, or vice versa, processing for your import will fail.
Follow the rest of the steps to map your attributes and choose your attribute access based on the updated .csv file, using the same process as described above.
Edit attribute access and attribute mapping
On the Organizational Data in Microsoft 365 page, select Data connections.
Under Connection type, select the API-based connector you'd like to edit.
Select Edit attribute access and mapping.
Make any changes you'd like to the apps and services with which you're sharing data. Any changes you make impact all new data coming in to the system. When you're done, select Next.
Make any edits to your mapping for reserved and custom attributes using the same process as described above, and select Next.
Make any changes to your attribute access and then select Next.
Review global attributes and select Next.
Review your changes and select Confirm.
Edit connection name or app ID
On the Organizational Data in Microsoft 365 page, select Data connections.
Under Connection type, select the API-based connector you'd like to edit.
On the right, under Edit credentials, enter a new connection name or app ID, then select Save.
