Applies to: Viva Insights admin and AI admin
Behavioral insights provide a deeper understanding of how an organization gets work done, such as through focus, learning, network, collaboration, and meetings. They do not measure Copilot or AI agent usage.
By default, behavioral insights are disabled for new customers and existing customers who haven't previously accessed them. By enabling them, Viva Insights Analysts can create custom queries, set up Power BI reports, and perform visual customizations for employee collaboration data. Learn more about how behavioral insights impact the Viva Insights experience.
The AI admin or Viva Insights admin can enable Behavioral insights using Viva Feature Access Management (VFAM) or PowerShell. To learn more about what's included in behavioral insights, refer to this table.
Any behavioral insights settings using VFAM take effect in mid-November 2025. Until then, admins can still access the settings without impacting the product.
Note
Behavioral insights don't impact data sent to Viva Insights from Skills, Learning, Glint, or Organizational data in Microsoft 365. To use behavioral insights from these data sets, an analyst must be assigned in Viva Insights.
