Provision user accounts

If you're the user administrator for your organization, you can give access to the Contracts and Orders modules through the User Management section.

Pilot – We aim to provision all partner users who exist in Volume Licensing Contract Manager (VLCM) and Partner Order Entry Tool (POET) and migrate their user roles and permissions to the respective workspace (either Contracts or Orders).

Sandbox – All existing partner user accounts are migrated and provisioned with the highest role (submitter) to enable users to experience and learn all aspects of the new VL Central Contracts and Orders workspaces.

Production: general availability after the launch date – All partner users who have been active during the fiscal year 2023 (FY23) are migrated and provisioned with their respective roles and permission levels from VLCM and POET. Partner users who have been inactive for a long time can be invited by the user administrator as described in the User Management section.

Roles and permissions

Take note that higher permissions always include the lower roles' permissions. During the VL Central provisioning, only the highest permission that is set (for example, submitter) for a given user is migrated to VL Central, which includes the lower roles (such as creator and reader).

What if you can’t see your contracts or packages?

Problem – A small number of users who either used more than one sign-in account across the legacy VL tools (VLCM, POET, Explore) or used a shared sign-in account in addition to their personal one might not see their own expected packages or contracts in the VL Central Contracts workspace.

Solution – Switch your view to My Organization to find or see all contracts. We’re working on additional mappings for these users, but this will only become available one to two weeks after the start of the pilot access.
