[The feature associated with this page, DirectShow, is a legacy feature. It has been superseded by MediaPlayer, IMFMediaEngine, and Audio/Video Capture in Media Foundation. Those features have been optimized for Windows 10 and Windows 11. Microsoft strongly recommends that new code use MediaPlayer, IMFMediaEngine and Audio/Video Capture in Media Foundation instead of DirectShow, when possible. Microsoft suggests that existing code that uses the legacy APIs be rewritten to use the new APIs if possible.]

Queries whether an Audio Compression Manager (ACM) or Video Compression Manager (VCM) codec appears in the blocked list.

Parameters

[in] dllName

The name of the DLL that implements the codec.

Return value

This method can return one of these values.

Return code Description
S_OK
 The specified DLL appears in the blocked list.
HRESULT_FROM_WIN32(ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND)
 The specified DLL is not in the blocked list.
