PathGetCharTypeW function (shlwapi.h)
Determines the type of character in relation to a path.
UINT PathGetCharTypeW( [in] WCHAR ch );
The character for which to determine the type.
Returns one or more of the following values that define the type of character.
||The character is not valid in a path.|
||The character is valid in a long file name.|
||The character is a path separator.|
||The character is valid in a short (8.3) file name.|
||The character is a wildcard character.|
The shlwapi.h header defines PathGetCharType as an alias which automatically selects the ANSI or Unicode version of this function based on the definition of the UNICODE preprocessor constant. Mixing usage of the encoding-neutral alias with code that not encoding-neutral can lead to mismatches that result in compilation or runtime errors. For more information, see Conventions for Function Prototypes.
