PathRemoveExtensionW function (shlwapi.h)
Removes the file name extension from a path, if one is present.
Note This function is deprecated. We recommend the use of the PathCchRemoveExtension in its place.
Syntax
void PathRemoveExtensionW(
[in, out] LPWSTR pszPath
);
Parameters
[in, out] pszPath
Type: LPTSTR
A pointer to a null-terminated string of length MAX_PATH from which to remove the extension.
Return value
None
Remarks
Note
The shlwapi.h header defines PathRemoveExtension as an alias which automatically selects the ANSI or Unicode version of this function based on the definition of the UNICODE preprocessor constant. Mixing usage of the encoding-neutral alias with code that not encoding-neutral can lead to mismatches that result in compilation or runtime errors. For more information, see Conventions for Function Prototypes.
