CTRL-V--What happened to this option??

I'm attempting to produce some program documentation, (using Microsoft Word), and I USED to be able to CTRL-C & CTRL-V (cut & paste)--until recently.

This time, I have no evidence that an "upgrade" is to blame for suddenly removing my ability to cut-and-paste, so I am perplexed by this problem.
I wanted to give the version number of Word--but apparently, we stopped supplying that unimportant information.

(Remember the good old days, when applications had an ABOUT category, which supplied useless information such as: company name, version number, creation date, etc.?)

    Hi Robert,

With regards the Ctrl-V problem, do you have any other software loaded that might be intercepting these shortcuts? Typically, this might be some agent software, or overlay software. One such problem software is Steam, but there are many others that hijack the standard keyboard shortcuts, as well. Also, at around the time that the clipboard functionality disappeared from Word, were there any changes to the installed software on your PC, or did you make use of any downloaded templates of files that use macros and VBA, at all? Also, what the settings for Add-ins, ActiveX Settings and Macro Settings within the Trust Center in Word. You can find this under "File > Options > Trust Center".

As for the lack of "About" information, if you have a reasonably up-to-date version of Word, you can find it by going to "File > Account" and click on the "About Word" button on the lower-right of the Word window, dispplayed.

Please let me know how you get on.

    Best regards,

    Mark

Version information is displayed under File>Account>About Word.

When Word starts behaving incorrectly, I always start with an Office repair:

    1. Close all Office programs.
    2. Click on the Start button, then on Settings, then on Apps.
    3. Select Microsoft 365/Microsoft Office, then click on the Modify button.
    4. Choose Online Repair, then click on the Repair button.
    5. Allow the process to complete, restart your computer, then check whether the paste keyboard shortcuts have been restored.
