Hello.
I am trying to install .net framework 3.5 onto windows server 2019 that is offline. I have downloaded the offline installer dotnetfx35.exe but I get an error when trying to install the exe when double clicking on it. Any advise online says to use the windows ISO but I do not have it. Is there anyway you can use the offline installer of dotnetfx35.exe on windows server 2019?

Mount the source of the operating system CD, then when adding the role before clicking Install, click the link to set the location (X:\sources\sxs), depending on the letter of your CD/DVD drive, in my case because the server is a VM and air gapped, internet source was not an option, so mounted the image of the OS used to create the VM then .NET Framework 3.5 installed.

Use your Server 2019 installation media as the source.

Click on Export Configuration settings and select the path of sources\sxs from Installation drive or CD if direct installation of dotnet 3.5 fails.
