Paul Connolly Greetings!
We are using the Azure Maps API and we have a number of customers from Korea who cannot use our application due to this limitation. Is there a reason that it is not available from South Korea? And, is there any timeline to have Azure Maps accessible from South Korea?
I have further checked on this with our team internally and below is an update.
Bing Maps has worldwide coverage. Azure Maps is providing worldwide coverage but is currently not accessible inside China and Korea. We are planning to close these gaps over the coming years. If the map needs to be available for end users INSIDE of China and Korea, Bing Maps for Enterprise is currently the better choice since Azure Maps is currently not available in these countries. If the goal is to provide detailed maps that include China and Korea OUTSIDE of these countries, Azure Maps already provides this coverage for rendering purposes.
