__I reimage a lot of OEM laptops, I always manually update my OEM images in a virtual machine so that Windows updates don't waste my time! I mainly install Windows 11, but I've had Windows 10 give me the same black screen with mouse pointer after logging/signing into Windows. I maintain all my OEM images and I install all Windows updates including optional updates and driver updates! I also use the OEM tools to update the drivers! I experienced this issue in the past after installing a certain Windows update, for months I've not experienced this issue, but this issue is back! I suspect the latest cumulative update of being the cause! There' no pattern, the occurrence of the black screen with mouse cursor appears to be completely random occurring on different OEM brands and models!

This error is extremely frustrating there are far too many possible to solutions on the internet which may or may not work! I've resorted to resetting the OS on affected machines, then I don't waste my time on research and trial and error! I want the developers and Microsoft to take note of this issue and to resolve it ASAP!!!

I guide my customers that experiences the same issue to follow the steps in this video --> https://www.youtube.com/shorts/sbQb6BFfrzs <--

I would highly appreciate it if someone on this forum can guide me to a more effective solution that works every time and that saves me the trouble of resetting the OS!__

    I actually resolve the issue by leaving the affected PC on for at least an hour for the issue to resolve itself, and in most cases it does! In the event that it doesn't, I just reset the affected PC!

    @Arthur Durand

    I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing the black screen with mouse pointer issue after logging or signing into Windows. This issue can be caused by various reasons, such as corrupted system files, outdated drivers, or incorrect display settings. Here are some possible solutions that you can try:

    Run System File Checker: You can run the System File Checker (SFC) tool to scan for and repair corrupted system files. To do this, open Command Prompt as an administrator and type sfc /scannow. Wait for the scan to complete and restart your computer.

    Update Graphics Drivers: You can try updating your graphics drivers to the latest version. You can do this by visiting the manufacturer’s website and downloading the latest drivers for your graphics card.

    Change Display Settings: You can try changing the display settings to see if that resolves the issue. To do this, press the Windows key + P to open the Project menu. Select “PC screen only” and see if the black screen disappears.

    Perform a Clean Boot: You can perform a clean boot to troubleshoot the issue. To do this, open the System Configuration tool and select the “Selective startup” option. Uncheck the “Load startup items” option and restart your computer.

    Reset Windows: If none of the above solutions work, you can try resetting Windows. To do this, open the Settings app and select “Update & Security > Recovery > Reset this PC”. Choose the “Keep my files” option and follow the on-screen instructions.

    I hope this helps!
