In New Outlook how do I move the app bar to the bottom (instead of the first column on the left side)

How do I move the app bar to below - ie from vertical to horizontal?

For users of the newest versions of Outlook, which is Microsoft 365, you can get the job done really fast. Office just added an option in the latest version of Outlook 365. Thanks to this update, you can change the navigation bar back to the bottom with just a few clicks. Please do as follows:

Enable Outlook. Click File > Options > Advanced.

Uncheck the Show Apps in Outlook option under the Outlook panes.

I'm looking for a solution for this for our users. I don't believe it is currently an option with the 'streamlined' set of options -- its basically Outlook On The Web but running in its own special window instead of a browser tab, so the features and customizability are very similar. I think you have to switch away from "New Outlook" if you want to move the app\navigation bar back to the bottom.

It is now almost July. Is there a fix for this yet?

HOW do we move this back to the bottom of the main first column and NOT far left where it currently is.

Using Outlook Version 2206 and had to revert to the 'Old' Outlook to move them back

Can I move it to the middle of the screen?  I would like to meet the person who invented something so ugly and stupid

As i know, the Navigation Bar cannot be moved in New Outlook for Windows. If you need to move them, i'm afraid that you need to switch to Legacy Outlook.

Please kindly understand that many functions are not designed at present. To get this feature more quickly, I have found a post in feedback collection website and you could vote for it. Many features of our current products are designed and upgraded based on customers’ feedback. You can also make suggestions on that website and hope Microsoft will notice this in the future. I have the same problem, this new version is so user 'unfriendly' I'm reverting to the old version. I can't customise the ribbon, I can't move the navigation bar to the bottom, I can't got to file options" Settings has only very basic things that can be accessed. I installed it in good faith but it is nowhere near as good as the old outlook. Why would Microsoft bring out such an inferior product.

It just tells me that the new Outlook is no good and to go back to the old version? Then why have a new version if it's no good and you're telling people to use the old version. 🙄

Dan Buntman create a .reg file and name it OutlookHubBarDisable.reg.

Paste this code there and run it.

PS: You may need administrator rights.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
