Hi, I am facing an issue with the SharePoint 2010 with O365 Files. We have SharePoint 2010 On prem version, and the content folder is mapped to users as UNC path (L Drive). Now I will brief some scenarios for better understanding.
Scenario 01:
- Created a notepad file within the UNC path (L Drive) and saved it.
- Modified the same notepad file and saved it again.
Result: Successfully executed without any issues.
Scenario 02:
- Created a WordPad file within the L Drive and modified it, then saved.
Result: Completed successfully as expected.
Scenario 03:
- Converted a Word file to PDF and saved it directly to the L Drive.
Result: Saved successful without encountering any errors.
Scenario 04:
- Created a Word file within the L Drive and attempted to modify it within the same location.
Result: Unfortunately, the system failed to save the modifications. It treated the file as a new one and displayed the original file as read-only.
Scenario 04: Created a file from your PC and saved it to the network drive using a simple doc format, which succeeded without any issues.
When I tested saving the file directly to the L Drive that was a successful saving, because before saving I got a popup drop box that Word file and I choose simple doc file format was being saved.
Based on our observations, it appears that the problem may be not related to file or folder-level permissions. There seems to be a compatibility issue between SharePoint 2010 and Office 365. Can anyone help me how to fix this issue.
User unable to edit/modify the word file which is already in the share point folder. If we try to open that file, it shows as read only and when we try to save this file will save as a new file.
Thanks
