Error Code: TokenAlreadyRedeemedBySameMSA

I purchased a new MacBook and bought a product key for Office Home & Student for Mac. On the card I bought, it clearly states I can put this on 2 Macs. I installed it on the new MacBook without any problems.

I factory reset my old Mac and made a new Apple ID. However, when I tried to install Office Home & Student for Mac, I got this error message - "Error Code:

TokenAlreadyRedeemedBySameMSA". How can I have already redeemed a product key for 2 Macs when I have installed it on only one?

    After searching around, it seems I can install it twice but not on two computers at the same time. Is this correct?
