Got this error on both Hyper-V hosts:

The ASR cannot be registered due to an internal error

I tried to install on both Windows Server 2019 Hyper-V, but both failed with the above error.

Any ideas would be very appreciated!!!

    Hello,

Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to identify and resolve the issue:

    1. Check Prerequisites: Ensure that your Hyper-V hosts meet all the necessary prerequisites for Azure Site Recovery. This includes having the latest updates installed, correct versions of Windows Server and Hyper-V, and the required network configurations.
    2. Review Error Logs: Look for detailed error messages in the Azure Site Recovery job details within the Azure portal or in the Event Viewer on the Hyper-V server. These logs often provide more specific information about what went wrong during the registration process.
    3. Firewall and Network Settings: Verify that the necessary ports are open for communication between your Hyper-V hosts and the Azure Site Recovery service. You may need to configure your firewall to allow outbound connections to Azure URLs and IP ranges.
    4. Azure Site Recovery Provider and Agent: Ensure that you have the latest version of the Azure Site Recovery Provider and the Microsoft Azure Recovery Services Agent installed on your Hyper-V hosts. Reinstalling or updating these components might solve the problem if they are outdated or corrupted.
    5. Time Synchronization: Make sure that the system clock on your Hyper-V hosts is synchronized with an accurate time source. Time discrepancies can cause authentication and certificate validation issues.
    6. Service Account Permissions: The account used for registering the Hyper-V host with Azure Site Recovery should have sufficient permissions both locally on the Hyper-V server and in Azure. Ensure it's not a temporary or expired account.

    Best Regards,

    Hania Lian
