What happens if I don't rerun the hybrid configuration wizard after adding an Exchange 2019 server in an existing 2016 exchange hybrid environment

I am looking at upgrading to Exchange 2019 but I need to know if installing a new 2019 Exchange server in an existing 2016 hybrid environment will break anything. I do plan to later on run the HCW, but we want to test things before cutting over. Will this cause problems?

    Hi,

Thanks for posting your question in Microsoft Q&A forum.

Generally, adding an Exchange 2019 server to your environment and delaying the HCW configuration should not "break" existing functionality, just follow proper procedures. About installing Exchange Server 2019, you can refer to  Exchange Server prerequisites, Exchange 2019 system requirements, Exchange 2019 requirements | Microsoft Learn
