Azure VM with Entra ID authentication - Cant login with Entra Credentials

I have configured a Virtual Machine to allow for Entra Users to log in to the Virtual Machine. I am attempting to login using RDP. This however doesn't work and I just get back an error message telling me the Logon attempt has failed.

The user is part of a group with both necessary roles attached. The virtual machine has been properly configured to allow Entra Users to login.

The NSG has full outbound access and inbound access is for my IP with RDP.

As far as I can see there is no reason for this not to work.

What am I missing?

may I know have you followed the prerequisites mentioned in the documentation. You need to ensure that the VM has the "AADLoginForWindows" extension installed. for more readings Sign in to a Windows virtual machine in Azure by using Microsoft Entra ID including passwordless.

Have you Select Use a web account to sign in to the remote computer option in the Advanced tab.
