What we have: Citrix environment, Windows 2019/2016, roaming profiles, gpo with redirected profile folders.

What is being used by users: In Explorer the use of Quick Access, daily.

What is the trouble: Working in Explorer, lots of quick access items. Suddenly items are all gone, no quick access items anymore. Logoff, logon, ... nothing changes. At that moment adding or working with quick qccess is not possible.

What I already did: Yes, I can look in the options of Explorer and enable the parameters, but they are already enabled.

I did also a clean-up: del /F /Q "%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinations*"

del /F /Q "%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\CustomDestinations*"

I did User's image

And yes it does the job. Sometimes for a longer period, but sometimes it's coming back and then I have to do a reset again.

But the user wants a solution that last longer and I want to know what the reason could be. No, not all users are affected.

So has someone an idea "why it is happening" and if there is a solution that excludes the issue?

Thanks in advance.

Kurt

    Hello

The problem of Quick Access items disappearing in Explorer is quite frustrating and may be related to settings in Explorer, system updates, or even profile management in Citrix environments.

Although the search results do not provide a direct solution to the problem of Quick Access items disappearing continuously, you can consider the following aspects:

Check for Updates: Ensure that your Windows and Citrix environments are up-to-date with the latest patches and updates.

Profile Management: Investigate if the issue correlates with specific user profiles or occurs across all profiles. Tools like FSLogix might offer more robust profile management in Citrix environments.

Explorer Settings: Verify the settings within Explorer to ensure that Quick Access is configured correctly. Sometimes, resetting folder options to default can resolve such issues.

System Logs: Review system logs for any errors or warnings that might indicate why Quick Access items are disappearing. This could provide clues to the underlying cause.

User Permissions: Ensure that user permissions are correctly set and that there are no restrictions that might affect the visibility of Quick Access items.
