Please help me with my billing problem. I'm desperate.

I have tried for several hours to submit a support request for this issue. I seem to have the permissions and role to submit requests, but every time I try I keep getting bumped to useless Azure help pages or to post to this community. I am this close to canceling my Azure subscription due to the horrible support, but I'm giving this a try.

I am the owner of an Azure Blob Storage account. My subscription is at the basic level. I originally thought that my bill would be around $79 per month. However, for the past two months I have been billed over $200. The is the line on my invoice:Screenshot 2024-07-21 at 2.17.46 PM I cannot find an explanation for this line item anywhere on the Azure support or other websites. I feel like I'm being scammed by deeply hidden charges. The amount skyrocketed when I transferred most of my image data to this storage location. But when I purchased the storage, after doing a ton of research, my team thought that we would only be charged the $79 per month. I'm only storing about 9 GB of data so far. We haven't even begun to access these data for my website and database. The data are just sitting there.

Can someone explain to me why I'm being charged so much or can you tell me how I can contact someone that will explain this to me? Can you also tell me why I can't create a support request?

    Hi @Thomas Hickson ,the Problem subtype depends on the selected Problem type. I yoour case I would select this:

    On the following page click on Return to support request.

    Next page click on Was this helpful -> No and Next (on the bottom of the page).

    Provide additional details and submit the request.

    Hi Tom,

    Please make sure you have SFTP Disabled on your storage account. This costs $0.30/hour when enabled and should only be enabled when you are actively using SFTP to transfer files. If left enabled all month it alone will add over $200/month to your bill, even if you are not using it.

    Please navigate to your storage account in the portal and verify on the Overview blade that SFTP is Disabled, as shown below:

    To disable SFTP click on Enabled next to SFTP, next click Disable SFTP button at top, then click Disable to confirm. After making the change, wait a minute, on Overview blade click Refresh button, and confirm it says Disabled.
