Do we need to register the background tasks .?

I am using "Extension Category="windows.printSupportWorkflow" " for the Print Support app. Because I want to run certain background workflow when Print event is triggered from system

What need to be done so that support-workflow "Run" method can be called.?

Whether to use background tasks depends on your needs. You can also use asynchronous methods in the UI thread.

I need background task to identify when the print job is triggered and capture it.
For very background task do we need to register.?

I haven't found any official documentation about registration for print background task. It may be DeviceUseTrigger. I don't have a device to test it, but you can try it. If you want 1:1 technical support. I suggest that you might need to open a support ticket for this. Please contact our paid support at MS Support. Select Developer Tools -> Windows UWP Development -> Windows Universal App Dev -> Graphics and Multimedia Development in the support page and you could contact the team.
