Hello

Please i need your help on this issue.

We are having an issue with deleted teams group and files.

On the 9/27/2024 somehow our Teams group "Contacting" and all of its files were deleted.

I tried to restore the group however, we still get the message that says "This item might not exist or is no longer available".

I do not know WHO deleted the group, I tried to restore the group through the Deleted Groups page on M365 and it shows the group was restored but however none of the files have came back.

SharePoint shows “This folder is empty”. I have full admin/owner permissions for all of our M365.

Please how can i get them restored.

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you're experiencing. Here are the steps you can follow to try and resolve the issue:

    1. Verify Group Restoration:

    • Check if the group is restored properly: Ensure that the "Contacting" group is visible under your M365 Groups. Sometimes, the initial restoration may take some time to propagate fully.

    2. Restore Files from SharePoint:

    • Check Recycle Bin in SharePoint: When files are deleted in Teams, they are moved to the SharePoint Recycle Bin. Here's how to access it:
    1. Go to the SharePoint site associated with the "Contacting" group.
    2. Click on "Recycle Bin" in the left-hand navigation pane.
    3. Look for the deleted files and folders. If you find them, restore them from there.

    3. Second-Stage Recycle Bin:

    • If the files are not in the primary Recycle Bin, check the second-stage Recycle Bin:
    1. At the bottom of the primary Recycle Bin, click on "Second-stage recycle bin".
    2. Look for the deleted files and folders, and restore them from there.
    • Identify who deleted the group/files: You can use the Audit Log in the Security and Compliance Center to track deletions.
    1. Go to the Microsoft 365 compliance center.
    2. Navigate to "Audit" under "Solutions".
    3. Use the search criteria to look for "Deleted Group" or "Deleted Files" actions around the date of the incident.
