We have to upgrade Windows11 22H2 PCs to Windows 11 23H2. We are using WSUS to install any patches and feature updates, so we can't take the options of downloading ISO, Installation Assistant, Media Creation Tool.

And I searched for the enabled package KB5027397 described here,

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/kb5027397-feature-update-to-windows-11-version-23h2-by-using-an-enablement-package-b9e76726-3c94-40de-b40b-99decba3db9d  but could not find on Microsoft update catalog, and our WSUS either. Could anyone please tell us how to apply 23H2 through WSUS?

    Read through my guide

    https://www.ajtek.ca/wsus/how-to-setup-manage-and-maintain-wsus-part-3-windows-as-a-service-waas-and-group-policy-administrative-templates/

The upgrade view (https://www.ajtek.ca/wsus/how-to-setup-manage-and-maintain-wsus-part-2-computer-groups-update-views/) will show you what upgrades are available, and you can use the scoping of the Approvals process (https://www.ajtek.ca/wsus/how-to-setup-manage-and-maintain-wsus-part-6-selecting-your-test-systems-the-approvals-process/) to find the ones that are applicable to your systems.

Upgrading through WSUS is as easy as approving the 'correct' package that the computer's indicate that they 'need' and then sitting back, relaxing and watching the systems upgrade (or move onto other things).

    Hello,

    Check WSUS Products and Classifications:

    Open the WSUS Administration Console.

Go to Options > Products and Classifications.

In the “Products” tab, ensure that “Windows 11” or “Windows” (depending on your WSUS version) is checked.

In the “Classifications” tab, make sure “Upgrades” is selected to allow feature updates.

    Synchronize WSUS:

Go back to the WSUS Administration Console.

Select “Synchronizations” and click on “Synchronize now” to get the latest updates from the Microsoft Update Catalogue, including the Windows 11 23H2 feature update.

    Best Regards,

    Hania Lian
