Excel error when downloading from an external data manager.

I use an external data management program to download data into excel. It has worked problem free for several months, but I have started getting this error when I try to download.

Error report

Exception: System.InvalidCastException: Unable to cast COM object of type 'System.__ComObject' to interface type 'Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel._Worksheet'. This operation failed because the QueryInterface call on the COM component for the interface with IID '{000208D8-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}' failed due to the following error: Error loading type library/DLL. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80029C4A (TYPE_E_CANTLOADLIBRARY)).

There is more in the error report, but this seems to be the main indication of a problem.

I am on a new Dell XPS 14 64-bit processor. The data download program is also for 64-bit processors.

Again, there were no problems until a few days ago, and the issue seems to be with excel, not with the data download program per se.

Thanks in advance.

    Hi @David Watt

Do you have charts in your data?

I suggest you go to Control Panel > click "Uninstall a program" under "Programs", find and right-click on your Office, select "Modify" >"Online Repair".
