How to get the start and end date on Microsoft Project to match the duration

Question

I have an assignment due in two days and need help on Microsoft Project.

The duration of my tasks don't match the start and end date of a task.

For example, project planning is 4 days but instead of finishing on Thursday 17th, it finishes in Friday 18th.

It even spreads out extra hours along the task. I tried manually fixing this yet the start and end durations stay the same and do not match.

Please can someone tell me how to fix this problem. Thanks!
