Hi.
The requirement is that given a set of polygon coordinates for a building's levels and rooms, is it possible to use the indoor maps? Meaning that without a DWG file.
I have been trying to find a way to create a dataset/tileset/feature without starting with a DWG file but was not able to locate any documentation on that.
What we have is the polygon coordinates of the rooms polygons in a csv right now. We are of course open to using some sort of azure maps api that can let us create a dataset/tileset/feature from there.
Currently, only DWG files are supported. Support for additional file formats is planned.
Is it planned some sort of API instead of batch upload of files, which makes us dependent on existence of a file in a specific format. It becomes tricky when these file formats are proprietary.
Under the hood I believe it uses GeoJSON files, but the properties/ontology hasn't yet been documented (I suspect that will be an option later this year). There is already a service you can use to regularly update data, however, for the indoor scenario, typically the building itself wouldn't change, only the metadata which you would pass in via Azure Digital Twins: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/digital-twins/how-to-integrate-maps
