Deleted files from recycle bin

Somehow, I did not do it, emptied the recycle bin with files I wanted to recover later. Is there a way to get those files back? I use the Recuva from CCleaner and it can't find them. Says I have a Harddisk Volume2 that's unable to determine file system type...don't know what that means. Appreciate any help! Thanks!

    Hello,

I just read your reply to my earlier question and thanks for the suggestion. I have another one for you. The last 2 times I updated my win 10 with the microsoft update for may and this June update. Both times my recycle bin was emptied after the update. Is this something that is supposed to happen do you know? Thanks for the help!

Unless you keep a log of files access , I doubt you be able to trace.

The files I wrote about now have just been deleted by someone the last 2 days. I have files that were hacked and deleted at the end of last year. I guess those are lost?

Is there way for a hacker to delete files recently that can't be traced? I used the event viewer and could not find anything. There must be a way to trace files that a hacker deletes?

    Thanks for the help!

    Hi,

There are many file recovery software like Recuva out there that can help recover lost files.

But the only problem is that you have a limited time before the files get overwritten and impossible to recover. The exact amount of time you have depends on how you use your computer and how much empty space you have on your storage device. If you have just a few GB of storage space left, the chance that some application will overwrite your files is much higher than if you have hundreds of GB of storage space available. If the files are over written, it would be near to impossible to recover them.

If you can’t locate a lost file from your backup, then you can use Windows File Recovery, which is a command line app available from the Microsoft Store. Use this app to try to recover lost files that have been deleted from your local storage device (including internal drives, external drives, and USB devices) and can’t be restored from the Recycle Bin. Recovery on cloud storage and network file shares is not supported.
