Reading Progress functionon teams

Hello,

I am having trouble with the Reading Progress assignment task.

I have set the task, both using an example text and one I have uploaded. I Have tried changing the number of attempts from unlimited to a limited number. I have also had the students try opening the assignment on both laptops and iPads and both on Chrome and Microsoft Edge.

The students are prompted to check their camera and microphone which work fine, however when they press start, the countdown happens, but the screen is white. No text appears. Only once has it shown an error saying 'learning tools is taking too long to load'. But other that that it shows the 'Recording' icon up the top and nothing else.

I know others have had this issue too. We are using the web app rather then the desktop app.
I have used this function last year with my students and it was great.

Any advice or a way to fix this issue would be brilliant. Thanks.

    Hello Alison Eddie,

    Thank you for your patience!

I'm sorry to know that you and your students are experiencing issues with the Reading Progress assignment task. To better understand and narrow down the matter, please provide following information so that we can work together to address it effectively.

    1. Is this issue happening with all the students or a particular student?
    2. Have you checked if the issue is same when you try the 'Student View' from your side?

    1. If you can read and record video from your side. Ask your student/s to clear the cache and cookies from their browsers they are using. This can often resolve issues with web applications. Also, please ensure that the students are using the latest version of the browser.
    2. Could the student try using the Teams application to see if the issue still persists? This will help us differentiate whether the issue is specific to the Teams web version or the Teams desktop version?
    3. Could you please assign another test task to different students and check if the issue persists?

Please feel free to provide any updates. I will continue to assist you based on the information you provide. Your understanding and cooperation are highly appreciated.
