Hey Support,

Just I want to know the information about Libre Office apps.

All are aware that open source are available for Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

LibreOffice can be used for Libre Writer, Libre Office Calc, Libre Math etc.,

I want to know if we are using open source like Libre Office, whether windows 10/Windows 11 registry will get affected. Whether it will affect the Windows Update.

Looking forward for your reply for my understanding.

If we are using Libre App what will be the advantage and disadvantage in Windows Operating System.

Thanks

R. Pradeep

    Dear Pradeep,

    Good day!!

As per my knowledge, using LibreOffice on Windows 10 or Windows 11 should not affect the Windows registry or Windows Update. LibreOffice is designed to be a stand-alone application that can be installed and used independently of the operating system.

There are several advantages to using LibreOffice on a Windows operating system. One major advantage is that LibreOffice is free and open source software, which means that you can use it without having to pay any licensing fees.

Another advantage is that LibreOffice is compatible with many file formats, including Microsoft Office formats, so you can work with documents created in other applications without any issues.

Additionally, LibreOffice provides several useful features, including a word processor (LibreOffice Writer), a spreadsheet application (LibreOffice Calc), a presentation application (LibreOffice Impress), a math formula editor (LibreOffice Math), and a database management system (LibreOffice Base).

These applications are similar to their Microsoft Office counterparts and offer similar functionality.

However, there are also some disadvantages to using LibreOffice on a Windows operating system. One potential disadvantage is that LibreOffice may not be as fully featured as Microsoft Office. For example, some advanced formatting options or macro functions may not be available in LibreOffice. Another disadvantage is that LibreOffice may not be as widely used or supported as Microsoft Office, so it may be more difficult to find help or resources if you encounter issues.

If you still need any further information, you can contact eOffice support and to check the Windows compatibility, please post your concern in the Windows category in the same community.

Hope you can understand and thanks for your patience.

    Have a good day!!

    Best Regards,

    Hi Sophia Papadopoulos,

Thanks for your reply in detail.

The issue only on support. Microsoft have support and LibreOffice doesn't have support.

    Thanks

    R.Pradeep

LibreOffice includes software for word processing, spreadsheets and presentations, so you can definitely use it in place of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Compatibility with the Microsoft file formats is generally decent (although never 100%).

LibreOffice is supported on the Windows platform. I am not sure which information you are looking for, but it would be better to go to the LibreOffice site at https://www.libreoffice.org/.

    Hi Stefan Blom,

I am looking for Word, Excel work only.

Please advice whether we can use Libre Office.

    Thanks
