How to create a second Microsoft account with same email.

I read that it is possible to create a second microsoft account with the same email, as long as the sign in user name is different. But when I try to create a new account with that email, I get an error message indicating that the email is already associated with a microsoft account.

The reason I want a second microsoft account is that I want to have two people playing minecraft, each logged in through a different microsoft account on a different mac. And I don't want to deal with family

accounts, providing information as to name age, permissions etc. I just want a second minecraft accounts in my name, linked to the same email account that I or anyone else I authorize can access from a second computer at the same time as I access my primary minecraft account on my first computer.

My second email is an edu email and Microsoft rejected that as an option, and I don't want to own a third email, because it means the hustle of maintaining a third email, presents security risks, requires linking emails so I get microsoft verification codes etc from my normal email etc.

For anyone trying to do something similar to what I intended, I ended up checking out on youtube how one can get a second email associated to one's gmail account, with this method, I was able to create a new microsoft account, buy minecraft again, and using the same launcher I am now able to start minecraft with one or the other account. One nice feature is that no matter what account I use, I can access the minecraft worlds that I have created on that computer. All I need to do now is

access both accounts from my other computer, and I should be able to get two

players on two computers on the same wifi network playing in the same minecraft world at the same time.

    Thank you for your response.

This thread is talking about setting up multiple log-ins for his computer (operating system). It is not the same has having two of the same address.

Yes, unfortunately you cannot purchase Minecraft with a educational account, your admin would have to do this for you.

The best thing to do is to create a new alias and use that connected to your main account so it is all centralised.

    I hope this helps.

Let me know if I can be of any further assistance. -Lumie

Hi there Anneg001! I am Lumie and I would love to assist you today.

I am sorry you are having issues with an email. There is no way to have the same email twice. You can use aliases to connect them all together here: [account.live.com/proofs/manage/additional]

Each account needs its own unique email so you would have to use one that is connected a an alias. What happens when you try to connect your secondary email?

Can you share the error code.

I shall be here for your response. -Lumie
