Yes, use the 'existing password' option. Best practice would be unique accounts per farm so you don't run into this issue.

Hi,
We have a farm account that we use as a managed account on multiple dev farms. (sp 2016) I changed the password through central admin on one farm and the other farms show that the password was changed in central admin. (based on last changed date of managed account) However all the services that use the account are now failing on the other farms. Should I just simply change the password in central admin using the "Existing Password" option? to fix the other farms?
