Micrsoft updates

Question

My morning routine includes updates for Windows 11, Outlook, anti-virus and anti-malware.

I then run scans for virus infections.

As well as the above, I always run SFC and DISM. These frequently will not start, or stop in mid-stream.

When checking task manager, I find that WMI is hogging position, and when further investigating, there were Microsoft apps being updated.

These were M/S Start Experiences app, M/S people, and M/S Copilot.

Is there any way to stop these auto installations, and have them behave like the regular Windows updates, and to download/install when I want?

If these M/S apps start first, then SFC and DISM will not start, and if SFC and DISM have already started, they stop when the M/S apps arrive.

Not a major issue, just an annoyance.

Unless you have fiddled with the default win udate settings, and included "Get Latest" the only win update settings you need to adjust are the notify and when to install, other than that leave alone.

As for AV, if you have a decent main brand product they auto update

Depends on the Office version as to any updates, once again if a current version they auto update

As for running, for no obvious reason DISM/SFC thats simpl ott - surely you have better things to do?
