Hi Team,

This query is regarding the Win 10 security update.

We have a Windows 10 PC that we need to retain, as the printer at our workplace only supports Windows 10. Therefore, upgrading this device to Windows 11 is not an option.

I attempted to purchase the Windows 10 security update subscription, but the process failed. Could someone please assist me in resolving this issue and help ensure the device receives at least a one-year subscription?

Thank you, and I look forward to your response.

Regards,

Richie

    Hello Richie,

The Windows 10 ESU subscription is designed to provide critical security updates beyond the official end-of-support date (October 14, 2025), helping organizations maintain secure operations while transitioning to newer platforms.

If your purchase attempt failed, here are a few steps to help resolve the issue:

    1. Confirm Eligibility Ensure the device is running Windows 10 version 22H2, which is required for ESU enrollment. You can check this by going to Settings > System > About.

    2. Use a Supported Purchase Channel The ESU subscription is available through:

    Microsoft Cloud Solution Providers (CSPs)

Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC) for enterprise customers

Microsoft Store for Business (availability may vary by region)

    3. Retry Purchase or Contact Support If the online purchase failed, we recommend:

Clearing browser cache or using a different browser

Trying the purchase via Microsoft’s ESU page

Contacting Microsoft Support directly to verify payment status and assist with activation

    4. Activation and Deployment Once purchased, the ESU license will be activated via a product key. You can apply it using:

    slmgr.vbs /ipk <ESU product key>

    slmgr.vbs /ato

Security updates will then be delivered through Windows Update as usual.

    T&B, Domic.
