    Two possibilities:

    1. If you set the document up as the size of half the sheet (A5 or 5.5" x 8.5"), you can convert to PDF and print selected pages and also, using the "Booklet" setting in the PDF Print dialog, print the whole thing as a booklet.
    2. If the document contains just four pages (from what you said, I'm thinking it's a greeting card?), you could try switching to manual duplex. This would then print the first sheet (pages 1 and 4) and prompt for the inside pages, which you can just cancel.

To print a booklet in Word and customize your print settings, you can use the bookFoldPrinting property in the Word API. This allows you to specify whether Microsoft Word prints the document as a booklet. However, if you're trying to print specific pages (like 1 and 4) and are encountering issues with custom printing, ensure that your page setup is correctly configured for booklet printing. Here are some steps to consider:

    1. Page Setup: Make sure you have set up your document for booklet printing in the Page Setup dialog. This can usually be found under the Layout or Page Layout tab in Word.
    2. Print Options: When you go to print, select the printer and then look for the option to print specific pages. You may need to enter the page numbers manually (e.g., "1, 4").
    3. Check Printer Settings: Ensure that your printer supports the type of printing you are trying to do (one-sided on card stock).
    4. Use the Print Setup Dialog: In the Print Setup dialog box, you can specify the printer, paper size, and orientation. Make sure to select the right options that match your printing needs.

If the settings still do not allow you to custom print, it may be a limitation of the printer or the specific version of Word you are using. You might want to check for updates or consult the printer's manual for more specific instructions on custom printing options.

    Hi,

Thanks for reaching out and explaining the issue. I understand you’re having trouble printing pages 1 and 4 one-sided, and Word isn’t letting you do that. The reason this happens is that when you choose “Booklet” in Page Setup, Word assumes you’ll print all pages in sequence for folding, so custom ranges like 1 and 4 often get overridden because the layout expects paired pages.

Here’s what you can try. First, keep the booklet layout by setting “Multiple pages” to “Book fold” in Page Setup and make sure the paper size and orientation are correct. Then, instead of using the booklet print option, go to File - Print, choose a custom range like 1,4, and set it to print one-sided. If that still doesn’t work, temporarily switch “Multiple pages” back to Normal before printing, because booklet mode locks the sequence.

Another option is to save the document as a PDF and open it in Adobe Reader or a similar app. From there, you can print pages 1 and 4 one-sided without restrictions. PDF gives you more control over custom ranges.

I hope this helps. If you need more clarification, feel free to reply.

    Regards,

    Edward
