It says I don't have enough disk space. However, I have two drives on the computer. My D drive has plenty of space. But instructions I found online says the install on the D drive will erase it. In any case, I don't know how to do that, install on the D drive.

That error in a Windows update may be referring to space on the C drive or it may also be referring to the System Reserved Partition.

Please provide a screenshot of the error you are seeing, also, what update are you trying to install.

What size is your C drive and how much free space do you have on the C drive.

To resolve the issue of not having enough disk space for Windows updates, you should first ensure that your operating system drive (usually the C drive) has sufficient free space. Windows updates typically require at least 20 GB of available space on the system drive. Here are some steps you can take:

    1. Check Disk Space: Open File Explorer, right-click on your C drive, and select Properties to see how much space is available.
    2. Free Up Space: If your C drive is low on space, consider uninstalling unused applications, deleting unnecessary files, or moving files to your D drive or an external storage device.
    3. Use External Storage: If you cannot free up enough space on your C drive, you can use an external drive during the update process. This method allows you to temporarily store files needed for the update.
    4. Disk Quota Settings: If you are using a virtual machine, check the disk quota settings to ensure there are no restrictions on the operating system disk.

If you are still having issues after trying these steps, you may need to extend your operating system disk if you are on a virtual machine or contact Microsoft Support for further assistance.
