I’m unable to activate Windows 10 Pro on my HP EliteBook 840 G6.

  • Installed Windows using official HP Cloud Recovery Tool

Correct edition: Windows 10 Pro

HP Support confirmed: “Unit shipped with DPK (Digital Product Key), Windows 10 Pro Standard”

Error shown:

Unable to activate Windows – Error 0x803FA067

What I’ve tried:

Clean install via HP recovery

Installed all HP chipset/ME/RST drivers

Reset activation (slmgr /upk, /cpky, /rearm)

Generic Pro key to force edition

Online activation fails

slui 4 (phone activation) does not open

Windows still says no valid digital license found.

**Looking for help to rebind the OEM/DPK license or perform manual activation.**I’m unable to activate Windows 10 Pro on my HP EliteBook 840 G6.

If HP indicates there is an OEM key on the motherboard of that device, open Command Prompt as administrator, then run this command:

    slmgr /rilc

When that completes, run the Troubleshooter in the activation settings window.

If that does not resolve the problem.

Download the free ShowKeyPlus app from the Microsoft Store.

Please provide a screenshot of that app window and please hide your product key in the screenshot.

To resolve the activation issue with your Windows 10 Pro on the HP EliteBook 840 G6, you may want to consider the following steps:

    1. Check for Digital License: Since your device shipped with a Digital Product Key (DPK), ensure that the Windows installation is indeed matching the edition that the DPK is tied to. You mentioned that it is Windows 10 Pro, which is correct.
    2. Use the Original Product Key: If you have the original product key that came with your device, try using that for activation instead of a generic key. You can enter it by going to Settings > Update & Security > Activation.
    3. Run the Activation Troubleshooter: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Activation and look for the option to run the troubleshooter. This can sometimes resolve issues related to digital licenses.
    4. Contact Microsoft Support: If the above steps do not work, it may be beneficial to contact Microsoft Support directly. They can assist with issues related to activation and may help rebind your OEM license.
    5. Use the Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant (SaRA): This tool can help troubleshoot Windows activation issues. It is designed to assist with various activation error codes and may provide specific solutions for your situation.
    6. Manual Activation: If you are unable to activate online, you may consider using the phone activation method. Since slui 4 does not open, ensure that your system is fully updated and try running it again from an elevated command prompt.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, you may need to perform a clean installation of Windows 10 Pro again, ensuring that you are using the correct installation media that corresponds with the DPK.
