I was able to use compatability settings for Windows 10 with my Lexmark Prospect Pro205 printer in 2023 (which was then updated to Windows 11), but now trying to install it on a new Windows 11 device and none of the compatibilty settings are working.
Lexmark stopped supporting that printer model in Windows 8, While you may have been able to use that printer in Compatibility mode in Windows 10 even after it was upgraded to Windows 11 that may not be possible in a new Windows 11 device.
What happens if you download the Windows 8 drivers from the Lexmark website, then right click the installer and choose to run it in Compatibility Mode, what error is indicated.
I tried everything. None of the Lexmark drivers would even recognize the printer. I finally downloaded “Scan” from the MS store and got it scanning. Now to work on a universal printing driver, which Lexmark did have. I’ll try that.
Okay, I am glad you got the scanner working, and hopefully the universal print driver will get the printer part working.
