I scanned a document and saved it as a pdf file and I want to convert it into a word document so that I can edit it

When you scanned the document, there was probably an option to save it in Microsoft Word format as an alternative to PDF. If so, choose Word format instead of PDF, it will probably be closer than converting a PDF to Word.

Yes, a scanned PDF can be converted to Word, but it depends on how it was scanned.

But the conversion from PDF to Word is not always very good. So you may find a website that con do the conversion better. Many online services are free.
