Successfactors inbound provisioning to AD / AAD - SAP will require OAUTH2 athentication

SAP have announced the ending of HTTP Basic authentication for the SF ODATA API.

Currently the tutorial says Basic Authentication must be enabled in SF. Will the Successfactors Inbound provisioning connector be updated to support OAuth, or does it already?

    Hi Chetan, we have a requirement to set up SuccessFactors to MS Entra / AAD, but our customer has challenged the fact that only Basic Authentication can be used.

    Is there an update yet on when OAUTH will be available in MS Entra / AAD for this integration.

    SAP are still saying Basic Authentication will be available in SF until 20/11/2026, but our customer is keen to not have to use Basic Authentication for this integration, so i was hoping that Microsoft would (after all this time) have a date when OAUTH will be available?

    SAP has further pushed out the date for deprecation/deletion of the basic authentication feature to November 20, 2026.

    This gives customers and partners more time to plan their move from Basic Auth to OAuth. We have not yet finalized our plan and timeline to move to OAuth. There will be a preview of this capability before the official release. We will share updates on this capability through the Azure AD - What's new page.

    Please note that SAP SuccessFactors updated their guidance and the new deprecation date for basic auth is 17-Nov-2023.

    We will accordingly plan Azure AD provisioning service enhancement to support OAuth before the deprecation date.

    I'm part of the Azure AD provisioning PM team. We are aware that SAP SuccessFactors plans to sunset basic authentication in the second half of 2022 (probably around Oct/Nov 2022). We have a backlog work item to update the authentication to support to OAuth before then. For now, please proceed with using Basic Authentication. Once we rollout OAuth support, we will update the integration and provide customers the ability to switch from Basic to OAuth-based authentication.

    Hello, Chetan and James, my name is Reinaldo Malo.

    Right now, I have an implementation in a customer that has Sap Successfactor with Active Direcotry On-Premises.

    My question is if Microsoft has a preview before the official release of the official version.
