SPS 2019 - you can't change this person's photo because it is synchronized with microsoft exchange

Hi All,

I am getting this error in User Profiles and their profile pictures are showing as a X sign.

Error -

you can't change this person's photo because it is synchronized with microsoft exchange

They cannot upoad a new photo.

This means a connection for photo profile import has been established with Exchange Server. They should update their profile picture via Outlook or you will need to remove the OAuth configuration between Exchange and SharePoint.

As trevorseward suggests, this is the expected behavior when you have configured profile picture synchronization with Exchange Server.
