excel file issue in sp

Question

user is trying to open excel file, it is showing protected view for hours. and not opening.
where as for me and other users are able to open it
and from other machines and other browsers also able to open.

so user with particular macine is having this issue
that machine is office 2010, we repaired office, rebooted the machine and cleared office cache in that machine but still issue remains. Please help

As the issue remains, and the issue occurs only on one machine, it shall not be a SharePoint problem.

Here is a fix you can have a try, add the library to trusted location and test. Go Excel>Files>option>Trust Center>Trusted Locations>Add location. You can also try to add the location where file is downloaded for testing.

If this does not help, you may need to post a new thread with office-excel-itpro tag as it is out of the scope of this forum.

Office 2010 isn't supported with SharePoint Online. You should upgrade Office on that machine to a newer version. Office 2010 support (security updates, hotfixes, etc.) will cease on October 13th of this year.
