The attendee(s) get the meeting invite in Outlook. The attendee(s) accept the meeting invite. The organizer receives the Accepted response from the attendee(s). So far so good. This is the current expected behavior in Outlook. Many features of our current products are designed and upgraded based on customers’ feedback. Its possible that the person you sent the meeting invite accepted the invite but chose "Do not send a response". This will cause tracking to show no response. This is the current expected behavior in Outlook.

Thanks for the information.

Actually, for this question/scenario, the meeting attendees accepted the meeting and sent the accept response back to the meeting organizer; The meeting organizer did receive the Accepted notification from the attendees.
If the meeting invite is created on the desktop Outlook client, everything is fine. The tracking tab has all the correct response status.
As the meeting invite (or iCalendar) is created programmatically by back-end application, the meeting Tracking Tab doesn't show the response status at all even the attendees sent the acceptance to the organizer.

We have experienced the same issues in my organization. Just today, I noted that an addressee hadn't responded to a meeting invitation. When I asked them about it, they confirmed that they responded. They shared their screen with me on Teams and showed how they accepted it by selecting "Send Response Now." I received the notification email, but the tracking STILL showed "None." Is there a Mail setting that needs to be changed in their profile or is this an Outlook bug?

All over the world meeting organizers are struggling to know, who will attend a meeting and who will not - and "This is the current expected behavior in Outlook".

Completely agree with Preben Lund Nielsen. This is NOT expected behavior. Expected behavior is that a person accepts or declines a meeting invite and it is reflected in the tracking tab. Whether they send the response or not. This "design" has created inefficiency and reduces productivity by forcing people to follow-up with attendees they don't think responded and/or rescheduling meetings because they didn't know who was showing up. It may be working as designed but this is clearly a design flaw. If I send an invite to 100 users, I don't need 100 emails regarding acceptance or decline clogging up my inbox. I should just be able to check the tracking tab.

I am having the same issue with a desktop-created event (Microsoft 365 apps for business: Microsoft® Outlook® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2404 Build 16.0.17531.20140) 64-bit ), where invite acceptances were sent back to me (I saw them) yet the attendee is still marked as "none" in the tracking tab. Please fix this.
