cross reference capital letter only at the last letter

Hi,

I am writing a report an use the cross reference to refer to my appendix.

My appendix names are
Appendix A
Appendix B
etc.

If I refer to an appendix my document shows 'see Appendix B for ...'
I want to have a lower letter for the first letter; however, if I set the reference code on lowerletter I got 'see appendix b for...'

What I want to have is 'see appendix B for ...'
Does someone knows how I can remove the first capital letter, but remain the final capital letter?

With kind regard,

John

If you mean that "Appendix" is part of the number format, it would also be displayed in lowercase, as Emily wrote.

What you can do is prevent "Appendix" from displaying in the cross-reference by adding the \t switch to the REF field. See screen shot.

You would then have to type "Appendix" before the cross-reference.

If you are saying that you want a particular cross-reference to use lowercase letters, you can edit the REF field code for that cross-reference and add the \* lower switch.

    @John

I test some format (*) fieldswitch with "* FirstCap" and "* Lower", but I could not get the format like "appendix B".

If I add "* lower" in REF field code, all letters would be lowercase, like "appendix b".
If I add "*Lower *FirstCap" in REF field code, the Number would be lowercase but not the item name "Appendix", I get the format like "Appendix a".

I am afraid your needs could not be achieved.
