I was reminded during the XP Embedded customer chat session yesterday that there is an outstanding bug with DirectX 9.0 in XPe SP2 that causes it to display an incorrect version when queried by DXDiag. Currently DXDiag shows the version to be 9.0b instead of 9.0c. The fix is to modify the following key-
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ DirectX\ Version\ 4.09.00.0902
Should read:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ DirectX\ Version\ 4.09.00.0904
