We generated lots of buzz about a Geek Dinner during TechEd - Splatt & Mark planted the meme and I ran with it.
I had my doubts about the venue and asked Splatt to scope it out during the day - which he did and this caused the venue to change, but not by much.
The time came to make the trek through Civic and off we went. We collected a few willing participants along the way and soon invaded one of the local Irish pubs. Phones rang, people wanted to know where we were and slowly a crowd grew. I knew we were onto something when the student ambassadors arrived - but where was Bernard?????
Anyways, we order food, drink and good geek networking was had by all. I guess this still qualifies as a Geek Dinner, even though there was no WiFi and people werent blogging live, 'cause there were lots and lots of geeks!
So far, I think we only had one of our geeks M.I.A

Highlight of the Geek Dinner at King O'Malley's: the pizza was absolutely incredible. I only got one slice though, cos Jason Brown was committed to snaffling the rest. - Anonymous
