This makes me happy. We are finally doing away with all those petrochemical-based kitchen things: the iconic orange cups (that I try not to use) and the plastic flatware. I can feel good about working from home most of the time because I avoid that stuff. We are getting much greener. Some of the changes on campus:
-switching over to paper-based, compostable drinking cups. Yippee! Ditto with the plates.
- food waste will be recycled in the cafeteria (geez, I don't even do that at home and I am an avid recycler). You recycle the biodegradable cups, plates and flatware with the food waste.
-In our offices, instead of just recycling paper, we will have bins for mixed recyclables including paper, aluminum cans, plastic bottles, milk cartons, lots of other stuff. The same stuff I recycle at home.
I have to admit that in the past, when I drank something out of a plastic bottle at work, I stashed the plastic bottle in my bag and brought it some. Cool that I won't have to do that anymore.
I love going greener at work!
