Paul from the UK has put together an excellent (but quite long) document which summarizes the core security best practices and checklists when building applications on the Microsoft platform. He calls it the "The Developer Highway Code". For people that live outside of the UK, the Highway code(wiki) is the book we use in the UK when you are learning to drive.
This handbook captures and summarizes the key security engineering activities that should be a core part of your software development processes.
