Contained in this reference implementation are customizable samples of mortgage and insurance application forms that can be used by brokers and agents to capture application information. In addition, the reference implementation illustrates how to automate the process of integrating the captured application information with carrier systems. It also demonstrates how to integrate visual workflow cues from insurance policy and rating systems using the Microsoft Office InfoPathâ„¢ task pane. The Insurance forms reference implementation quickly enables the development of a solution that:

- Streamlines the communication between agent/brokers and insurance carriers through the automation of paper processes
- Reduces claim processing time and loss ratio through standardization of data capture, storage, and transmission

The insurance forms reference implementation for Microsoft Office 2003 is used bydevelopers and IT implementers to jump-start the creation of a full end-to-end solutionof insurance forms (claims and applications) processing. The objective of this referenceimplementation is to jump-start the following:
- Creation of a complete solution for insurance application, claims processing, and workflow
- Creation of a forms service for linking standardized insurance forms to XML Web services
- Maintenance of enhanced security environments for business operations in the insurance industry
- Provision of InfoPath-based forms to help the insurance industry reduce the processing time and overhead costs of completing insurance transactions
