New MSN Search Beta

The latest MSN Search, available now in public beta at https://beta.search.msn.com, relies on Microsoft's own Web crawlers and search algorithms. It indexes over 5 billion pages—nearly a billion more than Google does, and about five times as many as it did before. And it has a slew of new features aimed at supplying actual answers rather than mere results.

Microsoft, however, has not yet replaced Yahoo Search technology from powering its engine, and it won't do so until sometime in 2005.

It's a coincidence that google double the number of the pages they index nearly at the same time microsoft published the msn search engine? It looks to me like a "hint"...

Sorry guys, your MSN browser is great, but it don't has nothing new under the sun. People won't switch.

(and yes, I know it's beta. So it's whatever google is trying to get ready)
