Oooh, I may need a new monitor to go with my new Sony Vaio. Check out this new Dell SX2210T 21.5" widescreen Multi-Touch panel. Multi-touch you say? Yup…when using Windows 7 Home Premium and above you get the multi-touch capability. I didn’t even know this was something you could do via a separate panel but it makes a huge amount of sense and for me, I personally prefer the idea of a big screen with touch capability rather than having touch on a small screen laptop like mine.
So what do you get?
- Full HD (1920 x 1080) experience with 16:9 widescreen display
- Optimal brightness (220cd/m2) and 50,000:1 (max.) dynamic contrast ratio
- Integrated 2MP webcam with dual microphones for video chats
$469 in the US but I don’t think it’d fit in my carry on luggage. I assumed it’d be a US only thing for now but no….it’s there on the UK site for £319 with free shipping. sooooooooooooooooooooooo tempting

I'd like to see soem ethnographics around multi-touch screens for laptops and desktops...I've got a suspicion most users will just get plain tired! Still, love to track any research on usage :)Anonymous

Looks good Steve and probably the start of a wave of new devices to make our PC user experience even better. Will have to invest in one to have a play, all in the name of research of course.
